The STAR Organization & Trustmark Registry is open to all employers with ten or more full or part-time employees. It is non-competitive, except against established standards of
both organization and workplace excellence.
Organizations undergo a comprehensive ORG360 process in order to receive a STAR Trustmark. STAR Organizations must demonstrate outstanding commitment to listening to their marketplace, employees, and customers. These organizations improve their competitive advantage through people practices that lead to successful outcomes.
Participating organizations are assessed in the following areas:
- Trust in Senior Leaders
- People and management practices
- Service to others
- Open and honest communication between employees and managers
- Employee loyalty and retention
- Individual accountability and execution driving results as a team.
- Employee growth and learning opportunities
- Interesting and challenging work
Two criteria are used to determine if an organization will receive a STAR Trustmark, and at what level of organization and workplace excellence:

To use the STAR Trustmark, organizations are required to:
- Register for a ORG360 where the organization is located;
- Provide Workplace Stars with detailed registration information regarding organization's demographic profile and contact information;
- Achieve an ORG360 score of at least 3.01 on a 5.0 scale;
- Agree to allow Workplace Stars to disclose key ORG360 results online;
- Apply for STAR Organization every 12 months.

It does not guarantee it is a STAR Organization or is an excellent place to work now or in the future.
